“Offshore Wind Economic Development Act” (S.2036 | P.L.2010, c.57.): In an effort to bolster clean energy production, Senate President Sweeney secured the passage of a law that requires the state to produce a certain percentage of wind energy and create tax incentives for companies willing to invest in the enterprise.

Support of Developmentally Disabled (S.1982 |P.L.2010, c.50.):As the father of a daughter with Down Syndrome, Senate President Sweeney has fought hard to make sure the developmentally disabled are treated fairly and granted every opportunity to contribute to society. The efforts included striking offensive descriptions of the developmentally disabled from state statutes, expanding insurance coverage to include autism, making schools and parks more friendly to those with special needs and creating a registry of offenders to better protect individuals with developmental disabilities from abuse or assault.
